Neal Schon confirms a special TV appearance: he will perform on the Season 28 finale of The Voice, joined by members of Journey’s current touring lineup. The guitarist shared the news on social media on December 14, noting that he’ll take the stage with Deen Castronovo (drums and vocals), Jason Derlatka (keyboards and vocals), and Todd Jensen (bass). Cain and Pineda were unable to participate for this appearance.
Schon indicated there were other appealing TV opportunities he briefly considered declining, but ultimately chose to perform as a way to promote Journey’s upcoming tour after nearly a year away from the spotlight.
Sources report that the finale performance will feature a medley of Journey’s classic hits, including songs like “Lights,” “Lovin’, Touchin’, Squeezin’,” and “Don’t Stop Believin’.” The onstage act will be accompanied by coaches Michael Bublé, Snoop Dogg, and Reba McEntire, along with other Season 28 favorites.
In tandem with the TV appearance, Journey recently announced their Final Frontier farewell tour, kicking off in early 2026. Presented by AEG Presents, the North American leg spans about 60 shows, beginning February 28 in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and concluding July 2 in Laredo, Texas.
Promoters describe Final Frontier as “A Special Evening With Journey,” featuring new stage production and a setlist spanning Journey’s chart-topping catalog, including hits like “Don’t Stop Believin’,” “Any Way You Want It,” and “Faithfully,” celebrated as a tribute to the band’s legacy, fans, and decades of success.
Journey has tallied 19 Top 40 singles and surpassed 100 million albums sold worldwide since forming in 1973. Schon’s accolades include inductions into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the Grammy Hall of Fame, while Cain has earned two BMI songwriter awards and is a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member as part of Journey.
For clarification, Schon is performing as a guest on The Voice on December 16 with members of Journey’s current touring group.
