Crunchyroll, the go-to platform for anime lovers worldwide, has announced that the English dub of A Gatherer's Adventure in Isekai will begin streaming on October 13th! That's right, mark your calendars; the wait is almost over. For those unfamiliar, A Gatherer's Adventure in Isekai, originally a light novel series by Masuo Kinoko, tells the tale of Takeru Kamishiro, an ordinary office worker who finds himself transported to a fantastical world called Madeus. But this isn't your typical isekai story; Takeru isn't just some random dude; he's got cheat skills!

He possesses enhanced physical abilities, amazing magic, and, most importantly, the power to 'search' for valuable items. Talk about hitting the jackpot! With these newfound abilities, Takeru embarks on an exciting adventure in this vibrant new world.

But here's where it gets interesting... The English dub cast is bringing some serious talent to the table. Here's a sneak peek at who's voicing your favorite characters:

  • Chris Long as Takeru
  • Jessie James Grelle as Boy in White/Black
  • T.J. Anthony as Jerome
  • Tyler Darby as Voldius

Behind every great dub, there's an equally amazing crew. Here's who's working their magic behind the scenes:

  • Voice Director: Lee George
  • Producer: Zach Bolton
  • Adaptation: Dominique French
  • Mixer: William Dewell
  • Engineer: Derric Benavides

Now, let's dive a little deeper into the series itself. The anime actually premiered in Japan a bit earlier, initially via streaming on U-NEXT on September 29th (effectively September 30th at 12:30 a.m.). It then made its television debut in Japan on Tokyo MX and BS11 on October 6th (effectively October 7th at 12:00 a.m.). However, Crunchyroll has secured the rights to stream the series worldwide, excluding Asia. So, if you're outside of Asia, you're in luck!

The anime is being directed by Yoshinori Odaka, known for his work on 40-Shūnen da yo! Coro Coro All-Star Shōgakkō, at the renowned studios Tatsunoko Production and Synergy SP. The series scripts are being handled by Gigaemon Ichikawa, who has worked on titles such as Chikasugi Idol Akae-chan and Black Torch. Character designs are crafted by Mayumi Watanabe, known for Happy Seven and Taisho Otome Fairy Tale. GENCO is producing the series, ensuring a high level of quality. The music, which sets the tone for Takeru's adventures, is composed by Hiroshi Takaki, who has contributed to the Precure series, AKB0048, and Butt Detective. That's quite the resume!

Other key staff members include:

  • Prop Design: Sonomi Aramaki, Yoshihiro Satō (Staroid)
  • Background Arts: Atelier PLATZ
  • Sub-design: Akiko Mori, CARTON Inc.
  • Color Key Artist: Kayoko Ōno

If you're eager to dive into the story before the English dub drops, Alpha Manga publishes the manga adaptation in English. Their description reads:

"Takeru Kamishiro is a normal guy with an ordinary office job, but finds himself summoned to another world. Takeru starts his new life in 'Madeus', a world with swords and magic, fully equipped with multiple skills! Not only does he have enhanced physical and amazing magic abilities, but also the power to 'search' for valuable items. With the cheat skills he's been provided, Takeru starts his new adventure in the new isekai!!"

Masuo Kinoko first launched the light novel series on the AlphaPolis platform back in December 2017. As of September 12th, AlphaPolis has shipped the 17th volume. The series boasts an impressive 1.73 million copies in circulation, including digital versions, and has even snagged both the grand prize and the readers' choice award in the 9th AlphaPolis Fantasy Novel Prizes.

The manga adaptation is illustrated by Tomozo. AlphaPolis released the first compiled book volume in November 2018, with the eighth volume hitting shelves in August 2024.

A Gatherer's Adventure in Isekai seems to offer a fun twist on the classic isekai formula. But, do you think the 'cheat' skills will make the story too easy, or will they open up new and exciting possibilities? And what do you think about the art style?
